Any Multi day river rats on here?

My buddy pulled a Grand Canyon permit for this summer. It should be a pretty good time. We’re not what you’d usually call river Rats, but we won’t turn down a good adventure.

I run a little sheader on the youghioghany back east here in Pennsylvania. It has up to class 4 and a lot of 3s.

Once upon a time before kid stuff consumed most of my time and energy, I used to get out for at least one, sometimes a couple of week+ float trips a year. Fishing was usually the focus over whitewater or wilderness trips, but most of the time the trips involved a healthy helping of all of these things. Mostly in northern BC and closer to home here in AK. Man I miss those trips. It has been too long.

The kids are finally old enough I think we could pull off a longer family float trip. Maybe this summer.

We canoed the San Juan in April 2024. Headed down the lower canyons of the Rio Grande the end of October. Can't wait!
