Any morels yet?!

This was about 10 minutes worth of looking yesterday after work. I left more than I picked. Might head back Sunday afternoon if I get enough work done early. I didn’t fry up enough with dinner tonight and my wife and 2 year old got in an argument over the last one. I’ll have to heap the pan a little more tomorrow. I love morel season!

I always start looking for them near dead elms and ash trees, pine groves, wild cherry, and sand/gravel side hills. Hardest part is finding the first one of the season, the rest are easy!

I'm thinking about calling it quits on picking this year. Have enough to last until next year even though our picking season is still on for another two weeks. Been finding shrooms under and around the cedars. I'm in 6C Idaho.

After getting a good report from a buddy, I pulled the kids out of school today for a "family emergency"(we're out of morels) and did well. Here's one that we turned up.
