Has anyone here used the Maven B.3 6x30 binos?

I want a small pair of binos for quick looks in deep timber for when I’m on the move. Really wish Swaro had some in the NL line but these seem like the highest quality optics I can find that fit the bill.

I have the 8x30’s and they’re amazing for turkey hunting and general deer hunting these Southern pine woods where it’s thick and most sight distance is 200 yards and in.

They leave some on the table regarding low light and hunting AG /ROW spots where glassing 400-600+ yards is possible.. but their light weight, glass clarity and overall compactness still keeps them in my “go to” gear pile.

I have the 8x30s- I ended up choosing them over the 6x because FOV is about the same as the 6x30s and figured they would have a little more general utility, but I still find myself wanting something with less magnification and more FOV/ light transmission.

I am tempted to try the Kowa 6.5s as they have a much larger FOV.

B3 6x: 446fov 16.1oz
B3 8x: 430fov 16.6oz
Kowa 6.5x32: 525fov 18.5oz

Swaro used to make some 6-7x. I think they are unobtainium now, but I also haven’t looked.

I have the 6’s and the 8’s. I was gonna compare and sell one. I really like em both, and now that my son is old enough to hunt , I’m keeping them both. I don’t notice a huge difference between the two. He likes the 8’s better so I usually take the 6’s for bow hunting. Both r great little binos.

Interesting. Thanks guys. I saw those Kowa, but I’ve never heard much about their binos. I love their spotting scopes and prefer them to Swaro, but it doesn’t seem their binos get any attention.

I have 8 NL on my chest on archery hunts, but sometimes find myself looking through my rangefinder just for a less magnified view. Figure I could get that with both eyes in a super compact unit. Might try the demo program with Maven.

Kinda what I’ve been wondering. I can’t find anything that says Kowa binos are great. Strange since they do spotters as top tier.

Don’t see how u can lose with the demo program. U can try the binos yer interested in , before u buy, or don’t buy.
There is alot of love on here for the b3’s, that should tell u something.

For what it's worth I got my nephew the Kowa 2-3 years ago when Cameraland had a good sale going. I played with them before giving them to him and randomly when we're out. I've looked through them in all types of light but have not used them day in day out myself. I'm very impressed with them every time I look through them and say I'm going to get a pair but never do. I just don't need them and have several pairs stuck in different places. I'm not an optics guru by any means but my go to's are my old 7x42 SLC's and meopta 8x32 meostar b somethings. So I'm not used to the most cutting edge optics but have some that don't suck. If a fella is used to the latest greatest glass our opinion might differ but for common folk I think you would be very pleased with the little Kowa 6.5's. Bright focus easily comfortable to my face anyway.

I haven't used the Mavens, but the 6.5x32 Kowas are fantastic binos for the price. They have much friendlier eye relief and fov than most compact binos I've tried.

Kowas good rep. Swaro 7 x 42 habicht have latest glass but its a vintage optical design meaning FOV is constrained. They come in green rubber or "civilian" black versions. Danish military bought a boatload recently.

Sky rover 6 x 32 prob worth checking out but make sure to buy from them direct for warranty etc.

APM also have porro 6 x 32 that is great value but has independent focus.

I’ve had the B.3s in my Maven cart for a few weeks as an upgrade from my 15 year old Japanese Vortex Viper HD 8x42. Mavens are a half pound lighter, better FOV and I assume better coatings than the Viper HDs, but I’ve yet to look thru them. I’ve read nothing but good reviews on the Mavens. Will probably try the demo soon.
