They definitely should know the answer to those question, or atleast be able to find out.

Did they comment about additional reticle options.
Nope , no answers to any questions, just gave me a couple of web links to their website.

Recently mounted the hunter 3-15. Glass is solid. Center dot is 0.2 mil in size, which workable on lower end magnification, but quite big for shooting small groups at distance on paper. Installed it on the womans 6cm, she didn't like the lack of mag, but she printed a 1" 5 shot group at 300y on paper. Key was using a 2.25" aiming dot to overlay the reticles dot size. After she saw her group, she was okay with it, she's used to my nx8 4-32 which she's been using last 2 seasons prior.

The 1/4 mil hashes very usable 10x and above, bottom end they're usable around 8x.
Turrets are good, tactile and audible. Parallax, magnification dials are smooth.

Man, a 0.2 mil center dot would bother me too! The rest of the crosshairs and hashes must be 0.05 or less thickness? Odd to have such a thick center dot and then be thin elsewhere.

Yeah it's relatively thin elsewhere. There are dots in the vertical stadia at 1 mil, 2 mil 3 mil etc, which are smaller than the center dot. I really like the tenmile 3-18 reticle, I just wish there was more seperation between the dot and vertical/horizontal stadia at the center region.

I didn’t know about this thread, but I saw it at SHOT. I was just moving through and took a quick look. It was a solid build with good glass (as far as you can tell in a building). I could shoot it, but at the price point it’s competing with other brands so it makes it a little hard for me. There wasn’t anything that turned me off.

I would try one if I found it used for $700 for sure.

I shoot PRS north of the border and although I’ve never ran apex I have chatted with a few with experience with them and the feedback isn’t great. Anecdotally there is some inconsistency in glass clarity. One shooter had three apex scopes and noted not one was the same with regards to glass clarity and colour.

I have also had hands on with one apex model at the local shop and found the turret hash marks crept out of alignment and after only one revolution the turret was out a full click click (0.1 Mil). Who knows what the actually reticle elevation was? For $2500 I’d be pissed if my turret didn’t line up.

As a reference point, a $700 vortex venom will track spot on for hash alignment, clicks and actual reticle elevation.

Optical sample variation seems to be a common complaint with scops made by the manufacturer Apex uses (JOL).

Some people report amazing glass and others terrible from the same model.

I think I've only seen one scope made by JOL and it was horrible, no where near the price that model was selling for.
Would take a Chinese made optic like the Vortex Strike Eagle or Bushnell Match Pro any day of the week.

Error in my previous post…. 0.1 mils out after a rev…. Not 0.1MOA. Haha 0.1 MOA sub-tensions would be a bit much for even the bench rest crowd.

None the less… disappointing for an optic at that price point
