I'm starting to plan a spring bear hunt, I was thinking I'd upgrade the scope (vx3i 2.5-10) on one of my 375s for something a bit more durable and more compact. I see the leupold 1.5-5 is now like 700 bucks, is there anything sort of like that being made right now? I see Zeiss makes a 1-6. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have been looking at the Trijicon Credo HX 1-6x24. Just waiting to get my budget in place. Not cheap.

Anything reasonable price wise might have to be used.

As a longtime supporting vendor here on the forum it would be my pleasure to assist you with this. Please give me a call, 516-217-1000, to discuss it. Have a great evening

Following. I need one for my 375 also. Leaning towards a Trijicon acupoint 1 to 6 x 24. Only issue is I’m not thrilled with the Trillium dot. Wish it were just a regular battery powered illuminated dot. I also would consider a credo if it weren’t for the silly ballistic drops subtended supposedly for 223 and 308. Good LPVO options in SFP are getting very hard to come by.

I have a real hard time trusting anything recent with a Leupold name on it.

The accupoint reticle is illuminated by tritium and a fiber optic "thing". I like not having to think about a battery and the illumination from the fiber optic does a good job of matching the brightness to the ambient light in my experience.

I know. But I just don’t like how there is a finite life span to the tritium.

Ha! No, finite meaning the tritium only lasts like 10 years.
Then why do you care about a thing that you will never use? The tritium only comes into play in total darkness when there is no ambient light to illuminate the fiber optic. It having tritium or not is literally nothing for your use. In any legal light, the fiber optic illuminates the dot, and that has no life span.

Interesting outlook.

1-6x24. Preferably on a Sako Kodiak

Also, wait for me to be a resident. 😉

If your not dailing or long distance the accupoints are hard to beat. Uncluttered fast target acquisition with the triangle. Still able to be precise with some practice.

I like the credo too, but when I hear bear I think quick may be needed and although the mil reticle is pretty darn nice it is a bit fine and the illumination is not daylight bright. IMO.

When I was looking to scope my thumper a blr in 358 w, I bought 3 scopes. The credo 1-6, NF nx8 1-8 and swfa 1-6 hd. The NF went back. The swfa sits in the rifle now and that reticle is very useable at one power! I kept the credo too despite capped turrets for my ar varmits rig. Very nice scope.

Oh I agree with form havring at one time 4 accupoints, the glow in the dark for civilian use is irrelevant. The non daylight fiber optic is very effective at last shooting light thru the brightest of days.

Only an issue if using the civilian firearm for protection. 2 and 4 legged predators don't take nights off.
