You can contact commanche peaks outfitter, they may have some unit wide tags but I reckon you will pay a pretty penny for them… elk is probably upwards of 7-10k for a rifle hunt

I have enough points to probably draw 1st rifle elk as a NR - I prefer to hunt DIY. Is there any chance I can pull this off? I am willing to pay a trespass fee.

DIY is very realistic, just more walking & hiking

Yes my first post and I'm asking for info LOL - I will search around and provide some knowledge from places I have hunted over the years. I have 12 NR points and thinking about the Colorado Unit 20 Dec. or Jan. hunt. Are these late season bull hunts realistic for a very fit DIY hunter? Or is private access needed? I can manage about a 5 mile packout, which obviously won't matter if the elk are all on private property. I have reached out to an outfitter for pricing, but I probably can't afford it. Thanks in advance to anyone that knows the unit and can lend me some input.
