There was Ardel, Burnel, Raynel, W.L., Lanel, Odel, Marcel, Newgene, Claude, and Clovis. That was Versie's boys, of course. Not related to Versie though John Eubanks was a professional tree-climber and can climb a sweet gum to fetch up a nest of coons, if you have the need.
Shoot up here amongst us one of needs the relief.

Black vultures are terrible. They kill calves, well, try to during birth.
Lambs, kids, etc.

I got a permit a number of years ago, I figured it was like most things and I'd be able to shoot 2, it was for 64.
This was East Coast-VA stuff? I see turkey vultures daily....I've probably seen black ones. I'm kinda intrigued.

Yes, east coast. Turkey vultures are just fine. The black ones are a different story, more hawk like, smaller frame. Easy to identify in flight from the windows on the wing tips, also very short neck.

This year the black vultures are out numbering the turkey vultures significantly.

This is also a really cool link below, where you can see how USDA manages wildlife damage for a ton of different species and you can filter it.

for instance, USDA shot 5 grizzlies in MT last year. They put the absolute smackdown on coyotes though.

That link is interesting. Thanks for sharing. Apart from the beavers, pigs (143K!), and coyotes catching the heavy hand of the USDA, I was surprised by the line item that noted they took a merlin (falcon) with a Swedish goshawk.

Who in the hell did the USDA contract out to pursue a merlin with goshawk? Looks like the same human / raptor pair bagged a kestrel, too? I wonder why the falcons have to be destroyed. Interested to know in the event that anyone has insights they'd be willing to share.

Not 100% sure but likely a airport biologist that uses his goshawk to haze other birds away and kills other birds from time to time.

Now I know what happened to the Red Winged Blackbirds and Meadowlarks.
And Cardinals?
Why they get to kill everything that moves and I'm stuck with game animals?
And 133 Smallmouth Bass,,,,WT?

Small mouth were just a perk of the job man. But time cards need filled out so. . .

Vultures???? Weird
The school a family member works at had vultures set up roost (20-30 birds) on the elementary playground. They were crapping on everything and freaking all the kids out. Someone came out and killed a few over a break, strung the dead ones up by their feet on the playground equipment. The rest moved on. Quite the sight I’d imagine.

When I lived in Central FL., those black vultures would be EVERYWHERE
in the winter months.

I know a lady that works for some Fed wildlife agency in TN. Part of her job is to kill problem animals. Beavers and muskrats damaging lake dams, black vultures killing calves, vultures of all kinds roosting on water towers. Seems they have a habit of pecking rubber gaskets from towers as well as creating an unsanitary condition. I am sure she removes other kinds of problem wildlife but these are the ones I have heard her mention.
