Anchorage gunsmith

I went with Hawks for my X-Bolt and Andy did excellent work at a fair price of $250ish given that he had to remove the barrel, plus he increased the firing pin protrusion and fixed my broken bolt release pin for a reasonable fee.

My 6.5CM tikka barrel will go to Kampfield soon, since I have the tools to remove it and not have to ship the action.
Andy charged me $140-150 for barrels that I had him cut and thread for me. That was with the action already off.

Picked up both of my rifles from Blackdog last week. His work looked pretty good. Cut and crowned both barrels to the length I requested and remounted the front sights. Had to drill and thread new holes.
It is nice having someone within driving distance and being able to talk to face to face.

If wanting to stay in town Andy Hawk has done a good job in the past with reasonable prices

Indeed, I only sent my barrel to ADCO because of their quick turn around, which gets me back to shooting in less than a month. 5/8"-24 with shoulder and shipping for just under $160. Will post photos once the barrel arrives.

That's a pretty darn good price including shipping

Got my barrel back from ADCO and the 5/8-24 threading, shoulder, and crown looks great, plus they matched the shoulder color to my cerakoted barrel at no extra charge (and I didn't even request it!). They had the barrel for about a week, so turn-around was just under a month with slow UPS and USPS shipping to/from Anchorage.
