Burris MAD Veracity 3-15.

Anyone else using scopes in this line able to tell me if not being able to quickly focus on your target is normal or if I'm just doing something wrong and need to spend more time behind it?

I've set the focus knob to 'infinity' but it never grabs a clear image as fast as other scopes I've used in the past.

Because your parallax is set to infinity when it really needs to be set at ranges you’re intending to shoot. I generally leave mine at 100 while I’m hunting, but would fine tune it if needed. Infinity is not where you need it set.

These “lower tier” optics have tendencies to do that also. They just aren’t as high quality as other optics.

Maybe it wouldn’t hurt to send it back and have it serviced. The scope should be basically clear on the low end and slightly fuzzy at the higher magnification but not terrible like you’re describing at all magnification ranges.

Pickettpuncher nailed it would be my thought. The parallax/focus should be from 50yards to infinity and infinity is for farther ranges then what you are looking at and is usually for 400-500 plus yards.

Don't set it to infinity.... Read up on how to sex the ocular focus first. The parallax adjustment is secondary after you set your permanent ocular.
