RSBTR... but it seems to me I found it cheaper elsewhere....maybe Seattle Fabrics?Where would you source Dyneema from? I'm temped to go the silnylon rout to just play with something else.
I haven't used it for a ground cloth but my wife sewed me a 10X10 tarp with it and its been phenomenal for 2 seasons. I have used it for shade and as my actual shelter on a few solo trips in the white clouds out here in Idaho.has anyone tried the 1.1oz MTN Silnylon from ripstopbytheroll.com?
Titanium Underlayment?I use some roofing membrane that is awesome. Super thin, durable and quiet, 100% waterproof. left over off a jobsite thrown into a dumpster and i scarfed it. Also made a awesome waterproof zip bag out of it that I can crawl into with my sleeping bag in a down pour and be completely dry.
Minus nearly putting a nail through my foot, I've been quite successful perusing construction sites and digging ends of rolls and pieces big enough to use for footprints out of newly built house construction dumpsters.Seems like Tyvek might be my best option, and it's proven. Where do you guys get your material from? I don't need a full contractors roll.
Made by Chief Products called Aqua Hide. No telling what it cost. I believe it is just a underlayment used instead of the old 30 lb felt paper. Pretty resilient stuff.Titanium Underlayment?
Polycro is a tyvek alternative. It’s lighter, remains to be seen if it’s as durable for me
+ 1 on polycro. It's just the clear window insulation film people with single pane windows put up in winter.Polycro is a tyvek alternative. It’s lighter, remains to be seen if it’s as durable for me
I used some sort of silnylon from them in my floorless, has worked wellhas anyone tried the 1.1oz MTN Silnylon from ripstopbytheroll.com?
Did you fold over and sew the edges for strength or anything? Curious.I used some sort of silnylon from them in my floorless, has worked well
Meant to put down the web address: http://borahgear.com/products.htmlI’d call John at Borah gear. He made me a custom ground cloth with loops out of silpoly. It compresses down to nothing and weighs nothing. Cost about $60
