Have the BFG ATs now but ready for a new set, looking at the Coopers also. The main thing I liked about the KOs were the 3 ply sidewall since I drive a lot of rocky ground here, how do you guys feel the Coopers and Falkens compare
in sidewall performance?

Stay away from the Falken AT3's. Had a set on my Wrangler and hated them. Switched to Nitto Ridge Grapplers and like those much better. Lower road noise, tougher tire, and made in America. I have seen and heard good things about the Cooper AT3 XLTs. That's going to be my next tire to try.

What happened? I'm just about to get a set, thanks

The Coopers have a super tough sidewall, the ST Maxx and STT Pros do for sure. I've smacked a rock with the sidewall big enough to bend a tie rod and it didn't even scuff the sidewall on my Maxx.

On the way down the lane from the cabin I had a tire blow out. This was after only about 1000 miles on them. The driveway was just standard gravel, nothing bit or sharp. A small stone got shoved up between tire lugs and punched about a 1 1/2" gash right between the lugs. I wasn't going fast, bouncing around or anything. Falken bitched around for a long time but eventually agreed to replace it. After I got that replaced and after about 10,000 miles on them, road noise started going up. I wanted to go to a bigger size anyway so i got rid of them and got some Nittos. Falkens might be cheaper, but they're made in Thailand, left me set, and I just didn't feel comfortable with them. Much happier now.

Although I am currently running BFG's, I have run 3 sets of Treadwright Mud Claws in the past, with no issues, probably 100,000 or so miles in total. Several trips from Colorado to Montana, and multiple long road trips with them and alot of off-roading, have made me a big fan. They are heavy and ride rougher than BFGs, but they are hard to beat for the price.

I use to run these on my 2500 Ram, little hard to get balanced at times. but for the price very hard to beat

I also put on the falken wild peak AT3. Don’t have many miles on them yet, but so far they have been good. They seem to do good on the snow and ice.

Falken Wildpeak at3w's have been great on my Land Cruiser and they were way cheaper than KO2's.

I meant to add that the pro comps last longer than the bfg ko2 on a heavy truck. 50kmiles. I have the ko2’s on my Jeep Wrangler and they last as long as advertised.
