I also think it's going to go much longer this year. You would think if there was hogs around someone would of got closer to one already. I could of told them not to over fish their home holes in the beginning, over fish and scare all the fish away.

Callie is a complete loner.. plus she has skills. If she can find a food supply she will be in this till the end

I agree, if she can avoid injury or illness Callie is the strongest person on the show. It may surprise you guys to learn that "likability" and "camera skills" are at the top of the list (from a producer's perspective). You see some creative videography from some. The trapper aint gonna last. I wish they would put a bow hunter on the show...amazed no one has killed a big animal yet. Plenty around. I like the one guy's shovel/axe...expected to see a baited deadfall trap for boar. One smoked pig would make life so much easier. Gotta admit, the fish/duck trap is the oddest and coolest thing I've seen anyone build yet. As for the early tappers...I think they know who would fall first, there would be considerable psychological testing done to ensure you don't have 10 people on after a month has passed. The tappers always have an excuse...oh I need to be with my family when they are actually just starving, beat up and over it. Gotta rationalize the quitting on camera to save face...I would respect the person who just said, "F this...Patagonia wins. I found my limit."

A few of the shelters seems okay but someone needs more rafters. LOL

Yeah I can't believe nobody has gone for a hog especially the Canadian with the recurve bow. Also surprised more people don't take or use snares to catch food. That Britt guy tried but fishing line wasn't going to work.

Yeah I think he knew where rabbits were going and had one chew threw the line, i would of tried a dead fall/ snare combo or something. Not just give up. They need to make a boat to move around for fish and make a live well area to keep fish alive long term when they catch a lot.

With all the footage that is shot and the limited amount that is shown, its hard to judge what these people did or didn't do. I'm sure the producers are sifting through all of the footage and creating the narrative they want and that may or may not have been an accurate portrayal of the contestants experience.
I really enjoy the show though and think the ability to be alone is more important than any advanced bushcraft skill set.

I agree the footage is handpicked and edited and all that, but if someone was being successful snaring or trapping I am sure they would show it or at least them cooking the meat. The guy that just tapped said he hadn't had meat in 23 days so I don't think he was catching anything.

I was considering how i would build a foolproof livewell but ultimately decided that it made more sense to build a smoker. Severe weather, predators and birds of prey could all compromise a livewell but once smoked the fish would be edible for several weeks and if you were able to get a hog or bear or something, then a smoker would become a must have item. They are pretty simple to build too.

If They stick it out long enough they will be able to freeze stuff in another month or so and maybe ice fish and travel around more. They don't seem to do much exploring

I think they get routine medical check ups and someone's gotta come around weekly and pick up film and swap batteries

No one tapped out this week.
I think the chick from Alaska and the guy from pa will be next to go.

I'm thinking the girl from Wa, guy from Canada will be in it for the king haul.

If that guy from Maine doesn't get his shelter done soon he might be done too. I think it's been like 40 days and he's still living under a tarp

Anyone else think it's a super bad move for shovel guy to haveta hike so far from shelter to fish? I think the energy conservation would be a huge thing

Shelter site selection is very important, when that Patagonian wind starts howling, their shelters will be fully tested. Time will tell who selected a protected site and who is gonna have to tap or rebuild.

I was thrilled to see the shovel guy has access to this website, saw my old post and dug a deadfall trap for hogs. <g>

I feel so bad for Callie. Her attitude is so much better than the others and a dang spider looks like it's gonna do her in. Then to watch the pure BS rationalization of the "family" priority and "moving forward" like he's being noble instead of clinically depressed...dude! Who are you kidding? You can tell when people get into spiral and allow their attitude to slip and tapping becomes so easy. Not Callie...man oh man she is making custom floors and musical instruments, using the resources surrounding her and killing it! She deserves medical care (if they can treat her there) or another slot in the next season. That chick rocks. She could/would win it if the darn venom wasn't so nasty.

Agreed! I hate watching them justify the decision. She's hasn't been my favorite, but I'll give her credit for being quite the competitor. And she has done it with a great attitude.

Totally agree, she annoyed me at first with how positive she was. I thought she had no idea what she was getting yourself into... nope, I was wrong. She's a bad ass that could/could've won the whole thing. Rotten luck.

The dude who went home because of his family and he was "bored"... BS. You already missed 50 days with them, you might as well stick it out and take some money home to them!

Well Callie hasn't officially tapped so she might still be in the running. Looks like Greg might go next since he is claiming hypothermia. They haven't shown that forestry lady from Canada for a few episodes I wonder what is up with her. I also think that the young girl from Alaska and Fowler are close to quitting.

I think they have all last longer than the winner in season 1 or are atleast close. They didn't show the boat builder this show so I wonder if he finally finished his shelter

I'm in the same boat she annoyed me at first but has won me over with her skill set, attitude, and most of all her humor ... She was killing it and to.have a spider take you out sucks ... Real survival situation/how it happens in the real world but still sucks. The guy sitting around doing nothing as part of a strategy was annoying the hell out of me glad he went home ... Also not the best look for a "trapper"

Amazing episode tonight...Callie is coming back strong and killing it compared to the remaining 4 others. Guy with a bow is sure a timid pig hunter eh? How the heck do ya get hypothermia after having so much time to build a proper shelter, collect wood, maybe made a stone oven. I would have stripped my wet clothes off, dried my stuff and drank hot water constantly inside my shelter. That guy was no survivalist...failed the most basic of tests.
