This season made me mad on the first episode. All the applications they get and they narrow it down to 10. And one goes home after 24 hours?! And he teaches survival skills at a high school?! Seriously??

I guess by his standards I'm a survival expert too!

Ya wasn't going to watch if it was Vancouver again. This groups background seem more adapt for the challenge. I've only seen the first two. The lady who brought a "waterproof, dry down bag" she seems to have too much faith in that. It could work but for winning the challenge in that environment give me a good synthetic, not really an ounce counting situation.

The young kid that that was forced to leave because of the cut, damn thought he would do well

Yeah the guy leaving the first day was a waste of time, I'm kind of surprised that more of the people haven't started building decent shelters yet. I feel like that might be top priority in the winter

I feel like they pick people based on who will provide the most drama. They never have backcountry hunters, or avid outdoorsman.

I think they have a few decent people this year, the older Canadian dude seems to know his stuff and the trapper from pa that lost his job are my top runners.

Iv watched the first two episodes and my wife and i will watch tge third episode later today. The long haired guy from canada and trapper from pa are my picks to win... i think when they select people they always have a few they know are going to be good for drama but no chance of winning and some that have a legit chance of winning. I actually thought the first guy was going to do well but he just had too much personal stuff going on to be away from his family...i get it but if i was in his shoes i probably wouldn't have wasted the chance of going.

After watching this seasons episodes so far, I'm thinking "out of 5 thousand applicants, these 10 are the best they can do?"
Not sure of their criteria but in any case, I don't think anyone is going to last longer than last year.
I do like the show---I think we need a rokslider on it though.

Those are my picks too. I'd bet they have to have diversity, and TV audience charisma requirements. That's what makes it extremely difficult to get decent people. I knew the young survivalist would tap out quick, he seemed way too imature and impatient. I'm surprised that the people they picked are as capable as they are. I was pretty shocked to see a trapper, trapping is extremely politically incorrect. I think it will come down to who can handle the mental game of being alone so long. The mother, people with strong family/friends will have the toughest time.

Yeah, they have to pick a few to go home early. Also, some of the previous contestants of stated that they record tons of footage and that only about 1% of what they film ever makes onto the show. I doubt I could make it more than two weeks with that easy button. I like good food and, despite being an introvert, being alone gets old after awhile.

The shelters seem better this season than the previous 2. This one might go longer than last season. Just watched episode 4 last night. 32 days in and 7 people left
