Well lets hope its better than the "90% jacket" which I think it was meant to mean it wasn't useful 90% of the time. :D

Just kidding if Stephen and his brother are working on a boot I have no doubt it's gonna be a great boot!!!! Look forward to seeing what they come up with. I'm still hoping for a ridged sort of boot like a Hanwag Mnt Lite but with no GTX or anything. That way it'll dry much faster than any GTX boot out there.

ROFL... was the 10% of the time just wearing it around town? ;)

So far in my experience I really like a cordura/leather combo for archery season. My feet breath better, or so I think, and at the very least the boots are not as warm. The weight savings is a bonus. For that I like the Crispi Idaho boots. If it was a later season hunt I use the Hanwag Atlas GTX boots. All leather real close to the Alaskans you guys sell (I think).

A lot of boots would be much better without GTX behind the name. As soon as your feet start to sweat and it's not vapor anymore all goretex is is a plastic bag holding it all in. I just ordered a pair of leather lined Tibets to try. My Yukons are slightly too long and not as stiff as I want.

Might start to see more options in membranes. The makers of goretex are being investigated by the justice department for anti trust violations. They have been trying to keep any manufacturers from using any competitors products by pulling the license of anybody who tries to offer options. With DOJ looking at them they have to play nice. As the other membranes gain recognition you will see a lot of companies tell Gore to take a hike. From all I can gather Gore is widely hated in the industry.

First I've heard of eVent. Most guys in my area (not mtn hunting) wear Lacrosse or Muck types but I don't care for them, theres no ankle support to speak of and they are "clunky" IMO.

I wonder why they are not using event in boots more. Event is great! Though I don't have any problems with my goretex boots so long as I take good care of them.

I was looking hard at some Kayland boots in eVent as they are one of the few companies that make boots in eVent, but they didn't have any that I found fit the style of boot I like.
