The citation of 136K seems to be less than the cost of the investigation itself. Fascinating.

I read elsewhere (and have unsuccessfully tried to verify on the Pietta website) that there are 2 versions of the revolver - one with a transfer bar safety and one without. IMO it would be possible for a gun to fire without pulling the trigger if it did not have a half cock and transfer bar safety. I have a Freedom Arms SA revolver without a TBS and the manual says not to carry it with a loaded chamber under the hammer as a hard impact on the hammer can cause the round to fire.
That is if its dropped, ( or heavy impact to the hammer) if its in your hand its pretty damn hard ( all most impossible) to hit that hammer hard enough to fire the weapon. He pulled the trigger no doubt, but why was a live round in the chamber thats really the question.

NM max sentence for involuntary manslaughter in 18 months. and fines. Likely will get fines only.

me thinks that having a felony conviction, regardless of fines or jail time- might be the worst of the possible punishments

Hopefully he will lose his right to vote being a convicted felon, though I know some states have reformed that policy. (I cant imagine he is going to get this reduced to a misdemeanor). How ironic given how outspoken he has been politically, as well as his countless skits on SNL mocking Trump

and the armorer.

"The second charge is involuntary manslaughter in the commission of a lawful act, a more severe charge which requires proof that there was more than simple negligence involved in a death, prosecutors said. This charge includes a firearm enhancement, which adds a mandatory penalty of five years in jail."

It is so apparent anytime the press interacts with Baldwin how sanctimonious and glib he is. Clearly he thinks he's better than everyone of us common people. Just like all the billionairs in Davos spouting their climate grift and at the same time all flying in on private jets. The fact they cannot humble themselves proves their sanctimonious attitudes. Just cause they are wealthy I suppose. Argghhh...so frustrating to watch.

I was going to say in addition he couldn't run for office, but........

Pena served nearly seven years in prison.

In September, 2nd Judicial District Judge Joshua Allison ruled that a state law barring felons from holding office unless they are pardoned by the governor is unconstitutional so Pena remained on the ballot.

I also think he will only pay fines and settle everything he can and just move on. We shall see.

Reports I read/heard said that testing was done on the pistola and it would not fire on its own without the trigger being pulled
He lied to investigators and most likely will lie on stand if allowed to be questioned
Will he receive jail time ?? I have to say it’s highly unlikely

I dont mean to be flip, because someone died and someone else got hurt and everyone’s lives got ****** up…

…the DA is going through the necessary motions For a high profile case that really amounts to a terrible accident that was caused by multiple layers of negligence. he will plead it down to something lesser or it will be dropped altogether and then he will pay a quiet settlement to the families and the wounded survivor.
