Another disappointment

Miss on mine, but husband drew JBER moose bow hunt. He had this hunt in 2023 and didn’t connect, so we’re all set for this time around.

Antlerless Afognak for me. Swing and a miss on everything else.

Son drew the same tag. Should be some delicious meat.

Nothing for me personally. My dad drew a mountain goat tag, excited to do that with him since he wasn't able to come along on mine last year.

Elmo or Rich side?
I had the Elmo side in ‘23 and it was 9 days of all day hunting and seeing very very little. Mainly a small bull on the side of the road driving into the hunt area. Finally found one in a stalkable spot on day 9
Saw pics from the Rich side and there were some good ones walking around in huntable areas every other day….

Elmendorf. Yes, it was super slow for him also on that hunt, but he did jump a couple toward the end of the season. We know way more now on where to focus since we did all of the scouting then. Should be a shorter learning curve. I wish they would do the bow moose hunt on Rich side, but they probably don’t want that much pressure over there, with the black bear hunters AND the muzzle moose hunts going on at the same time on Rich.

I drew a Kodiak brown bear tag…which honestly didn’t think would happen.
Was kind of hoping to get a sheep or goat tag instead…but glad I drew something for sure!

Which unit? We hunted Kodiak in the same year 2023 as the moose hunt. We both got our bears on a party tag.

I drew a goat and Afognak antlerless. Kind of a bad combo for me time wise, may end up not hunting the Elk. Rare enough to draw I don’t really plan enough for what to do if I draw more than one…

I also had the late tag. I didn’t connect but had a good hunt. Weather really caused issues lots of fog. Hunted for 8 of the 10 days, saw lots of sheep and lots of bears.

Been dreaming of that permit. Only sheep draw I put in for.
