The wife and I and some friends are going on a cruise to Alaska July 4th-11th, with stops in Ketchikan, Sitka, Juneau. What are some must see/do things at a few of these stops. The cruise has suggestions, but wanted to get some feedback from the Rokslide clan. Thanks!

You didn’t list it but if your ship stops in Skagway the train ride is cool. Helicopter or float plane to view the glaciers is really cool to do. We took the tram to the top of mount Roberts in Juneau, not much to do up there but the view is nice. Don’t do the duck boats in Ketchikan

I agree with the train ride. You need to send the wife out shopping and go out for salmon and or halibut. All of theta can be arranged on board the ship. I think we fished out of Sitka.

Train to the top and then biked down that was great
Hired our own guide for 4 of us for the glacier hike did not cost much more and were able to hike on our own and learn a lot

If you do stop in Skagway, hit me up.

That goes for any rockslider coming through Skagway on a cruise, I live here, know all the local tour operators. I can probably hook you up. You just need to give me a heads up.....And buy me an expensive bottle of whiskey.

Helicopter ride up to the glaciers is one of the coolest things ever! Definitely worth the $ and will do it again my next visit!
Float plain to the Fjords was great too!
There is so much awesome stuff to do in Alaska and the most amazing sights! Enjoy!!!

I do want to go fishing, but the boat doesnt get into most places until 8 am. I imagine the fishing boats are gone by then?

Most of those guys make their living off of tourist dollars..just start calling operators now as they book up way in advance.

I suggest fishing out of Sitka if you dock there.

All of the places you mentioned are crowded AF. Juneau and especially Sitka are forecasting record numbers. Have fun!

Appreciate the info. Don’t think we are stopping in Skagway, but if I find out we are I will hit you up.
