Just thought I’d post what I think is a very well written article regarding our newly governor appointed BOG members. It’s not a done deal yet, but without any opposition it will most definitely happen.

Resident guides make up less than 1% of all Alaska hunters, yet will essentially control the votes on the Board if two more guides are confirmed.

Do you know when the joint session will convene to confirm or deny the appointees? This is an interesting issue but I need to do more research. The author makes a compelling case with the Kodiak hunt, but I’d be interested to see if there are other predicted effects in the state.

I believe the confirmation hearings/joint session will be Tuesday, May 11 at 11 AM.
