Alaska Blacktail in November

What a wonderful and successful hunt all around. Great scenery with the family and then the added bonus of those amazing blacktails with the distinct antler coloration. Congrats all around!

we spent 5 days total (7-11 nov). That seems to be the best time for rutting activity coupled with early rubs and good meat quality. Not sure about the rest of the SE, but I've hunted several different week periods in november and that time frame is a good match for Admiralty at least.

I absolutely love deer hunting, closest to moose interaction as it gets. I'm learning about what really gets me fired up about hunting and I think it's the interaction and communication that brings animals in close. I really get excited about the hunt, so deer and moose are my top pics for that, boyee.

There's challenge to every species, don't get me wrong, but vocal coms twist my spirit more than spot and stalk. I can see why elk hunting is so popular, too.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I look forward to many more years grooming this little gal for taking the hat from me one day. Life is grand my friends...it is what you make of it.
