I have been doing a ton at cases for my flight but I figured I would get a few opinions. I want something bomb proof as I am scared about showing up in Fairbanks with something broken or crushed. It looks like SKB is ahead of the game on it but I wasnt sure if there was anything better. I was also looking for a case that I could pack items around bow that I cant carry on flight so I am killing 2 birds with one stone and also adding extra protection around my bow. Anyone have any insite for me?

I don't own one but I have been doing a bit of research on cases as well and I don't think there is a better option than skb. I will be buying one soon.

I will have to double check but I am pretty sure we have used an SKB case to fly our bows up to Alaska. They work fine and we stuff them full of anything and everything to get them just below the 50lb baggage limit. Great place for knives and a handgun and any other restricted items. The case has gone on a boat and in a raft and has always been water tight and solid. Granted, expect some rough handling on the flight so pack the case appropriately.

For what it's worth, I have traveled multiple times with a cheap $30 Plano bow case and never had an issue. Just make sure everything is synched down tight. The cases above are nice though.

Which model did you go with? The one thing I did mean to mention is to watch out for the weight of the case. At least, if you don't want to pay the extra baggage fees that they hit you with depending on the weight allowance your airline sets. With a bow or two it shouldn't be a huge issue but weight adds up quick.

I picked up the 3i-4217 I have 50lbs to play with and most of the stuff I will take in my dt1 as a carry on just stuff I have to check will go in the case. I don't trust airlines and want as much as possible in my possession

I used an americase for awhile and it worked but was big and heavy. Honestly, i throw my bow in a duffle bag with a hard bottom suh as the alaska guide series or williams and joseph bags. They usually dont draw any attention and I have yet to have a problem, even going international.

I've been using the less expensive SKB 'Hunter Series' bowcase for air travel without issue. After packing the bow and hard arrow case inside, I used my camo clothing as packing material inside the case. Kept everything inside nice & snug and shaved a good bit of weight off my checked bag. Optics & electronics go in the pack as a carry on...
