Periodically crud just rains down on me. Monday the fridge laid down and died. Tuesday the turbo went out of my truck. Now I'm in loaner. This weekend it's supposed to rain for two days. Thank god I don't have a mother-in-law to visir.

When life stuff happens more than i think it should, looking for things to be grateful for sometimes helps me to gain perspective...and it can always be worse

I hear you, ponysoldier. After I had an eye surgery earlier this year, we decided we were going to put our house on the market by the end of May. My wife then had to have an ankle surgery, then she had two gigantic blood clots knee to ankle after the surgery and at high risk for pulmonary embolism, and she couldn't drive for weeks so I was taking and picking up my girl from school all myself, so of course we got 0 house work done in that time period, then when I started doing some "refresh" work on my house in prep to put it on the market I found mold and mold and more mold in the basement.

All the mold is remediated, but we're still working on loose ends like painting and cleaning shit up and we're having pictures for the listing Tuesday morning.

I think that there must move some easy days ahead for both of us!

True. I'm glad I've got a house and good health insurance and I don't have missiles whistling overhead.

So the saying goes. My wife just said that the other day. She had some breast cancer surgery 3weeks ago, found out needs a little more post op, and her hip is bothering her. Keeping fingers crossed that I feel pretty good.

My luck is mainly bad luck. Espceially these days. Just try and deal with it the best 1 can! So doing some things 2 or 3 times to get it done.. That is how it works for me...

So, this is where we can be thankful for modern Medicine and, if you are fortunate, good health insurance. My wife has run out of spare parts. She has had a tonsillectomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal), small bowel blockage that required surgery, lumpectomy (breast cancer), skin cancer mole removal, full hysterectomy, and a knee replacement. She has to, daily, drink a horrible concoction to control diarrhea associated with the gallbladder surgery. That said, we both feel blessed that she could get through all that and still have high quality life in our senior years.

Getting older can suck, but it sure beats the alternative.

I got a new refridgerator today. After dinner I went out and the gfi laid down and died. I replaced it with a standard outlet. So far it hasn't kicked a breaker. If it is still functioning by morning I will put in a 'new' outlet and call it good.

Over the last few years I have had problems with number of gfi units.

I never run frig or freezer on a GFI. That is one of the worst NEC codes for sure. We moved last November, the frig quit that next day, took 2 plus weeks to get a new one up here. I can feel your pain.

THings are changing. I got my truck back today. I did a little local recon and found a couple loads of blowdown fir to start my woodcutting for this year. However I did it in a white-out of blowing grapple and 30 degrees. Hopefully we will get a break in the weather when summer starts.

My freezer was on a GFI and every time there was a surge in the power (close by lightning strike) it would trip and the freezer was without power. I was concerned about it happening while we were away from home for a period of time. Someone told me to replace with a regular outlet and I did 15 years ago. No problem since. GFI are important around swimming pools or hot tubs where moisture is encountered, but inside I usually go with the standard outlet now.

I was reachiing up above the ovens to put a package of cookies away. My wife opened the dishwasher behind me. I stepped back, tripped on the door and fell onto the counter behind me, hitting just above the pelvis but below the lowest rib.

The muscle spasms have been miserable. Thank god for leftover drugs from previous wrecks.

My body works backwards to normal in relation to most drugs and surgeries.
Had gall bladder out 2 years ago and been constipated ever since. Never had that issue before.
