Front heavy buck means he's mature, 5 or older. I have a hard time telling age over 5 because if they reach that age, they're definitely old enough to kill. If I had to guess, him being a mountain buck, he's probably 6+ because it's not like he's eating beans and corn all year to get fat.

Same here, aging is something I am still getting a feel for. I was thinking his antler prime might have even been the year prior. Then again what do I know. I only found him last year so no history longer than that.
