Around my place he would be a dead ringer for a 5 year old. Typically past that age their hip is no longer balanced with their shoulder and they look very front heavy. Beam length is long (probably maxed out) but still doesn’t have a ton of mass, which suggests right at 5.

Ya I am thinking 5 as well so 6 this year. You guys all kinda reinforced that for me. He dropped on the shot last year and that’s the scar he has in the photos. Thank you guys for taking the time to chime in.

Very mature looking deer, not sure how to tell the difference between a 5 and 7 year old deer. I voted 6+
IMO the only way to tell is history (or an ear tag for HF :ROFLMAO:) . If you have pictures for multiple years and know its the same buck then maybe. Other than that you would have to kill it and take a tooth sample!

Just typical mountain groceries
We don't see em with bodies like that down here - I might get a large chested buck but he'll weigh less than 200# whole and look more like a horse than someone's pet holstein.

Hoppe you can tag him this year, he should put some mass on those antlers.

Man I hope you’re right. Those pics were 10nov so he could have got shot but I’ll find out July when I check again.
