I have a M77 Mark II ultra light in .257 Roberts; it’s in mint condition and actually shoots pretty well considering the pencil thin barrel on it, seems to like 120 grain partitions and 117 grain sst

Anyway I want to restock it. The only aftermarket options I see are Houge and HHS …Either of these a good option? anything i am missing ?

yeah Hs Precision.
I was leaning towards a synthetic since it has a nice walnut stock on it already.

I’ve had a good experience with the HS Precision stock. I did have to open the barrel channel a little bit for a magnum contour barrel, but otherwise it dropped right in. I did not bother to bed the stock seeing as it had an aluminum bedding block. Accuracy was not impacted, but the perceived recoil was improved from the previous boat paddle stock.

I tried a hogue and ended up returning it. It didn't fit well, was heavy, and had a flimsy fore end.

I sent mine to get a custom pendleton stock. I'm pretty happy with fit and finish. Barrel float is a little tight and fore end has some flex. I may still try a stockys if they come to market.
