So I’m coming back for my 4th CO unit 81 season, still trying to get an elk. I appreciate all the advice and help in the past. My skill are getting better every year (lots of Rokslide and grittybowmen). I want to upgrade to a top notch compound bow system. I’m looking at the carbon defiant or bowtech BTX-28. I'm a newbie still so looking for recommendations for reliable, back-country gear.

Here’s what I’ve found:

Sight:
• SPOT HOGG HOGG IT 5 PIN WRAPPED
• TROPHY TAKER OPTION SIGHT PLATINUM

Rest:
• Hamskea Hybrid Hunter Pro Micro-tune
• RIPCORD CODE ACE MICRO ADJUST FALL AWAY REST
• SMACKDOWN PRO ARROW REST

Quiver
• TIGHT SPOT QUIVER 5 ARROW
• TROPHY TAKER QUIVALIZER

Release
• No idea

If it helps, I’m setting this up for Elk / Bear. Looking to shoot a mid 400 grain arrow with NAP mechanical. Last year my effective range was 40 yards; I want to extend that. My draw length is 27 inches; 60 pound draw.
I live in GA, but still hunt a lot. Even in CO, I was still hunting sun up to sun down. I was there for 10 days in 2015. I saw elk 5 times, but they saw me first. Got to do 1 real stock.

As always thanks.

I really like the look of the trophy taker option sights!

That said, these aren't questions that others can answer for you, really. All of the items you listed are from respected vendors, and will suit you well. Just gotta pick the one you like the best.

Just my take on those options:

Sight. they are both money. If you'd like a little bit more versatility go with the TT sight. After reviewing the Option sight, its now part of my personal setup.

Rest. I loved the Hamskea Hunter at ATA. Wish we could carry them. I personally use the Ripcord Ace, and have been very happy with it. Will be doing a review of the smackdown pro in the next few weeks.

Quiver. I have been working on a review of the Quivalizer over the last week or so. So far, its NOT a gimmick. I really like it. Its not as good a quiver as the tightspot, but when you consider the weight savings of your stabilizer AND that the Quivalizer is better (yes better) than your current hunting stabilizer.. its definitely something you should look at.

Release. I personally use the Spot Hogg Whipper Snapper. Its a very simple yet effective thumb release. I have been using it for hunting for a couple years now and personally shoot much better with it. It has allowed me to find a more consistent anchor point.

Shameless plug. We carry most of the items on your list, and we also offer a rokslide discount. PM me for info.

Good luck this year, looks to me like you're already on the right track!

Trophy taker option 4, whats the price on that one?

So here are my thoughts on accessories.

Sight.
Both of the options you listed are great sights. Of the 2 Id pick the option sight. Id order it with the Option 8 Housing and 5 pins. Personally though I would pick a Spot Hogg Tommy Hogg over it for the simple reason it has more travel and I know its bomb proof.

Rest.
Im a huge fan of the Smackdown Pro and would pick it first. The Hamskea is another top notch choice. Cant go wrong either way. Limb driven is definitely my preferred style of fall away.

Quiver.
Tightspot is hands down the best quiver out. So many mounting options and its light weight its a no brainer.

Release.
I love the Spot Hogg Wiseguy. It has the best trigger of any wrist release I have ever tried. If not that the Tru Fire Hardcore Max is a great option. Its by far the most bulletproof release we sell.

Just my 2 cents on the subject. No matter what you choose from your listed options you'll be getting good solid equipment.

Sight:
• SPOT HOGG HOGG IT 5 PIN WRAPPED
- I used this sight on my Mathews Creed and I liked it. Spot hogg sights are tough and very easy to adjust. I ended up changing it to the Spot hogg real deal because li liked simplicity better. Simple is (almost) always better

Rest:
• [no experience with these 3]

Quiver
• TIGHT SPOT QUIVER 5 ARROW
- again, I have the 5 arrow on my Creed and also bought the 3 arrow as well. I have 3 flu flu arrows in the 5 arrow quiver and 3 big game arrows in the 3 arrow quiver. Th tight spot is very adjustable and light weight. I like how close to the riser the quiver is and the quick and easy detach.

Release
• spot hogg 3 finger whipper snapper is what I use. I shoot better with it than a wrist release.

Take this all with a grain of salt. Technology is so good now and every company makes a solid product. I think that you can't go wrong with any of the options you are looking at.

I just went through this the other day on my Nitrum Turbo I bought from Cletus
I agree with OR archer on everything but I went with the Spot Hog Fast Eddie xl with double pin. double pin is nice. 20 and I am guessing close to forty Not there yet.
So it ends up 70# Nitrum turbo. TT limb driven smackdown pro, Spot Hogg Fast Eddie, Titespot quiver...sweet! I added a Fuse Carbon blade stabilizer and spot hogg wise guy release.
All together this is a great set up Fast, quiet and more accurate than I am. I am pretty happy.

i prefer a single pin so i wont comment on a sight.

i run both the ripcord ace and qad hdx on my bows and prefer the hdx. its cheaper too.

cant beat a tightspot quiver.

i like scott releases.

I'm with him other than I have a $25 quiver.

I think the reality of it is your bow setup will have little to do with your success rate. With that said I buy all kinds of chit I don't need LOL.
Put something together and shoot the crap out of it.

Here is my recommendation

Sight:
• Axcel

Rest:
• Hamskea or Smackdown Pro

Quiver
• Tight Spot

Release
• Whatever you're most comfortable with.
