I’ve worked in healthcare for almost 30 years. Yesterday we had a pretty good chuckle session about stale overused administrative buzz words and phrases over the years. For example, “we plan to grow and retain our own talent.” Meanwhile people come and go from this place daily like an airport turnstyle. Figured this would be as good a place as any to add a few more choice words and phrases.

Stretch goals
My company has a million of these. You can always tell when some new buzz word or phrase was used at an upper level meeting because it gets used every sentence.
The last year our has been “systemically.” Gets inserted into conversations when it doesn’t make sense. I can think of a million…

Oh man... from my former life in tech:
1. CI/CD! We just push the button and everything updates automatically! (BTW, we still need you all to log in for 3-5 hours on production deployment night and test everything manually cause we don't want automated tests in that Prod system)
2. Automation
3. "App Modernization"... translation, we shifted org ownership to a new "high performance" manager who wants to make a name for themselves, and hired a new architect who doesn't know how to do their job. Funding will be cut by 50% to acomplish this effort
