ADG vs Peterson Quality & Velocity

Haven’t had a chance to check velocity but from what I saw (post 15) the ADG had less capacity than the Peterson.

A buddy of mine sent me a screenshot from someone in Facebook that had the same results with their 7 PRC brass.

We’ll see how it does when I get a chance to go shoot it. Overall it looks fine.
To be fair, I’ve only used both in one cartridge so not exactly a big sample.

This is my only experience with Peterson so it’s entirely possible other cartridges have different results. I’m not too worried about it. They seem like quality cases

It looks like you compared virgin to virgin though and they were close? Fired to fired might be a slightly different. They seem very close.

People way over generalize on this stuff and assume because X brand has more/less capacity in one cartridge that it will in another and that isn't always the case.

Yeah virgin to virgin was very close. Only .7gr difference.

We’ll see how they compare when I get a chance to fire them with the same powder charge.

I have found ADG to be the toughest brass in general including the primer pockets.

I would put Peterson on par with Lapua in regards to durability and primer pocket failures.

I shoot both ADG & Peterson on my 300 Norma Improved and ADG pockets hold up longer. Peterson holds almost 2 grains more water though.

For those that have used both Peterson and ADG brass, how did they compare?

I’ve been very happy with my ADG in the calibers I’ve used it in but have been curious about the Peterson. Are guys able to push the Peterson to the same velocities as the ADG? How is the consistency?
I load both Peterson/ADG and have tested both extensively in my 300 win mag.
First point of note the ADG brass is much more consistent out of the box. Almost no variations in weight. Peterson has a larger deviation although it isn’t much. The ADG brass is notably heavier as well.
The ADG in my opinion handles the pressure better then the Peterson brass. With once fired brass I can get similar velocities with a slightly lighter load in the ADG brass then with the Peterson (ADG 74.9g, Peterson 75.1g).
The ADG also seems to be holding up under repeated firings better then the Peterson.
All that being said. I own more Peterson at this point because it’s available. ADG in 300win mag is almost never available. They do runs of it twice a year from what I’ve been told. I’ve yet to not be able to buy Peterson when I wanted it.

This is what I found with my 7prc brass. I haven’t loaded the Peterson to check velocities.

Following up because I had a chance to check velocities. 180gr hybrid and 67gr H1000 in both virgin cases, 18” C6 barrel, fired the same day. The Peterson came out on top for velocity, but ADG had better SD (only slightly). I don’t think either case is a bad choice in this scenario, and the velocity difference is negligible. The ADG group below was a 5 shot, directly after a barrel cleaning, with the first and last shot being outside the cluster.
