Adding Neoprene Sock for Warmth?

I’ve used neoprene wading socks under my waders while duck hunting in the past when it’s real cold. I always struggle with my extremities getting cold while glassing, especially in 2nd rifle (CO). I have uninsulated Crispi Nevadas and insulated 200g schnees Beartooths. Last year my feet still got cold in the schnees at 10°. Before I move on to a pac boot, I considered throwing some thicker neoprenes wading socks in my pack to slip on when I’m glassing. I’m looking for practical experience with this or opinions on alternatives. There’s a sale on Hoffmans right now and the Outback is what I’d otherwise consider.
