Abandon Bullet or Try Another Powder?

My thoughts at the time were a long barrel with the 280 Rem, now I wish I would’ve chosen the 280 AI with a 20 or 22” barrel.

My understanding is that a good gunsmith can run a 280 ai reamer in your 280 Rem for a fairly easy conversion, but the 280 Rem is a great cartridge also.

That’s a great idea, would that work for my full length sizer too? Yea it’s really good, I’m happy with it for a lot of reasons. But a 27” barrel plus an Omega 300 makes for about an acre of rifle lol. The rifle started as a 270 Win, then re-barreled and chambered to a 280 Rem. Whidden Gunworks did an amazing job with the barrel, action, and Cerakote. I spent so much to get it to where it is. With lead times and all that idk. I want to spend the money on action wrenches and barrel vises, and pre-fits etc, on that route.

Have you had success with another bullet that heavy? I suspect that 145gr. bullet may be too heavy for the twist rate of your barrel.
