Currently waiting on approval (45 days) for my 8 stacks. Wondering if anyone has experience with the two stack? I know volume is the king when it comes to suppression but at less than 4” and 4.5 oz, it could be great option for light weight hunting rifle

The size difference is a drop in the bucket for something 3-4 ft long and 7+ lbs. If it does mean that much, you save another few inches and ounces by not putting any suppressor.

I have an 8-stack and would think you won’t want a 2-stack after you shoot it. They are great cans.

Short cans like the 2-stack are poor compromises in terms of decibel and recoil reduction. Most people I know who’ve tried small cans have not been happy with them. And in the US, you’re stuck with it. If you really want to cut weight and also get some benefit, you’re better off with a brake and foam earplugs. But I hate brakes. I will take the weight of a can any day over one of those loud bastards.

What cartridge? I have a hard time believing a 2 stack would be worth the stamp and wait. The 4 is awfully loud, I'd go at least 6 stack or consider a different brand if weight is a concern

I have an 8 stack, and a 3 inch reflex lives on it (I got it hot, and could not get it unscrewed by hand, should have used anti-seize).

I would consider a 6 stack as a dedicated 223 can on a hunting rifle, but that sounds like the smallest I would want for shooting without ear pro, and only for something with a small powder column, like a 223 or 6 ARC. I don't think I would go any smaller though, and I would want it to match bore size for the additional 1-2 Db drop in sound that can give, which pushes me away from it because then it will only be a 223 can and something like 6 ARC would not be an option in the future. Perhaps, if I get a collection of cans I might do that some day.

I'm equally inclined to get a 10 stack for a more better muffler. It would be lighter than the 8 stack with a reflex, and probably give about the same amount of suppression at the cost of a little length.

I view really small cans, like the 2 stack as an upgraded flash hider, rather than as a downgraded muffler. Though, that is based on reading, not personal experience.

Absolutely love it. Shot a Raptor 8, and sounded awesome, and that was comparing it to a CGS Hyperion.

Is anyone hearing about shipping dates on back ordered AB Raptor 8's?

I back ordered 2 7.62 "stock" 8 stacks on 5/14/24.

I was told “a couple more weeks” last week on my Raptor 8 order. I ordered back in May and was told 4-6weeks then. Not sure why they’re taking so long. Are the faster approvals really leading to that much more demand?

I have a raptor 8 and 6 already. The 8 is flush, the 6 is on a 3” reflex. The 8 flush is quieter than the 6+reflex and lighter too.

Thanks for the info.

I haven't bothered anyone yet but I've received 2 other popular and backordered suppressors while I wait for the Raptors.

The guy I bought the other ones from doesn't carry AB because of lack of demand...go figure!

I borrowed an 8 for a hunt this spring and I'm putting together a rifle to commemorate the experience. Mine will come with the reflex and a direct thread mount. I've only experienced it in direct thread configuration.

Make sure to get the bull barrel reflex option if your barrel is flared at the end

I would guess that the 2 stack is hardly a silencer. I have a 10 stack and it’s pretty quiet on my 35 cal rifles. I probably should have got an 8 stack, but instead got a 7 stack A-10 in Stainless as it’s cheap 450 ish. A within an oz of the 8 stack and half the $$.

The A-10 223 is a 5 stack for comparison. My guess is the A-10’s have one less baffle to make the stainless closer in weight to the Ti versions and still keep decent noise levels yet not be better than the Ti offerings.

I have a 4 stack , it’s ok for 1-2 shots on game with my 6.5 prc . No way I’d even consider the 2 stack

Those really small suppressors seem cool but after shooting one, I’d never buy one. I know a guy who has a TBAC ultra 5 and while it’s a nice compact packed, it is loud, glad I got to try one because I sort of wanted one before that.

I’d imagine that 2 stack is similar.

The Raptor 8's might be breaking loose. I just got an email for both of mine from Silencer Shop that my form 3s are pending.

Saw this and am curious what your comparison would be recoil wise. Does the 6 stack with 3” reflex reduce more recoil then the flush 8?
Ive been dogging through threads trying to figure out what factor reduces more recoil, reflex volume or amount of baffles. My priorities are first recoil reduction, then length then sound ( but ansolutley dont want a break). And trying to figure out where to make my sacrifices on a setup

I don’t notice the recoil difference but then again I don’t notice much recoil difference between my 12lb 7prc vs 9lb 6.5prc. The suppressors just reduce the crack so much that I don’t flinch, and provided not zoomed in so much, lose sight of the target. I have a muzzle brake and they say that reduces recoil more but it’s the crack that bothers me not the recoil. All my rifles have suppressors now. I had a Raptor 6 with 3” reflex on my 6.5prc but I replaced it with a Raptor 8 that I run flush. The reflexes don’t do much other than make it easier to grip and tighten or take off the can and perhaps change the tone a tad. Nothing beats more baffles and it may be as simple as being longer and further from my ear. That said, I have the 6 stack with 3” reflex on my .223 w/16” barrel and I swear it’s quieter than my 300blk with a short barrel and integrated/pinned suppressor that has a type of reflex too (DD ISR - not impressed). On the next AR platform it’ll be another raptor 6 stack and reflex that comes right to the forend.
