Hey folks,

FNG from Northern California. Been lurking on this forum long enough that I figured I should probably join. Been a huge help when debating optics, rifle and cartridge decisions. Grew up in Minnesota, so will probably look for advice on whitetail this fall.

one question on my mind: My parents have a 2 acre place in MN with a pretty steady stream of whitetail going through it. Given that any deer I shoot is likely to run into the neighbors yard, yet MN laws do allow for folks to cross into private property to retrieve game. Suggestions on if I should go for it? Give the neighbors a heads up before hand? or just give them a heads up once I need to go get a deer?

Golden Rule, man. If you owned that property, what would you prefer and appreciate if a hunter had a buck go down on your property?

Given that they're your parents' neighbors, do they know any of them already? Relationships in advance always beat begging for permission or forgiveness.

ha yeah, that's what I was thinking I'd do. Just stop by and say hi to each of the neighbors and give them a heads up. I don't know them well, it's been a long time and a lot of them are new...

As the self-appointed chairman of the welcoming committee, it is my privilege to extend a laurel, and hearty handshake (virtual, of course) to our new CA member, Adam.
