I should add, the measurement is from the closed bolt face to the end of muzzle. The right way to measure is when the barrel is on the intended action. Then put a dowel or rod down the barrel and mark it. That will be your length.
To rephrase my question - is there any circumstance in which this could be considered a 22" barrel?? I can't do a "proper" measurement with a rod down the barrel since it isn't mounted; but given that end to end its 24"+, and even 23"+ from the shoulder, there's no way this is 22"... right??
^^this could be likely but I doubt dude selling measured the rifling, plus that's not the "proper" way. It's not 22". It might have 22" of rifling
The barrel is 24.3 inches (24). I have a 22” Tikka barrel which tapes out at 22.25”. When you order a barrel for a Tikka and want to keep the same barrel contour, must measure end of muzzle to end of threads like you did. Most prefit makers have the Tikka profiles. The D-18 contour for the RoughTech and the Veil measure the same.To rephrase my question - is there any circumstance in which this could be considered a 22" barrel?? Because the seller listed this as a 22" barrel, and Tikka does make a 22" Superlite 6.5cm, so that's what I assumed I would be receiving. I'm admittedly not an expert on all things rifle-related, so this thread is just to confirm that I am measuring things correctly before I accuse the seller of making a mistake. If it’s a factory take off (sure appears to be) why is this even a question? On both the seller and the buyers end. Know what you’re buying, know what you’re selling.
