A Plea for Direct Experience

I get Rokslide gets called out for “groupthink” but honestly this forum seemed to be the one forum out of most where guys proposed “theories” and then went out and conducted it tests and then posted said results… wanna talk about group think most of the hunting world thinks shooting an elk with a match bullet in .223 is absolutely bonkers, they also think Loopy’s are the gold standard ect ect… but yeah I think everyone should take a lot of stuff people say with a grain of salt and vet things for themselves
I have a neighbor who just resumed deer hunting at 40. I took him for a couple years when he was a kid, before he went girl crazy.
He's bought 3 deer rifles in a month and had a Leupold Freedom w firedot mounted on one. Despite my continued brow beating, he's dead set on mounting Leupolds on the other 2 due to word of mouth. Drives me apeshit.

Inside 200 yards core lokts are the best I’ve ever used. Or at least as good as anything I e used.

Don’t talk crap about corelokts, I bet they’ve killed more animals than any other bullet out there. I remember my dad buying me boxes at Walmart for sub 10 bucks. I killed a lot of stuff with the things!
I have a 77 yr old friend who'd weigh 140 pounds soaking wet. He hasn't been inside a store that sells ammo in probably 10 yrs. Every couple years, he'll ask me to bring him a box of 30-06 150 gr Core-lokts. That rascal still drops deer on a regular basis with his old BAR using open sights.

150 core lokts in a BAR. That’s legit.

Huh? And here i thought open sights were an assault on wimmin, children, and senior citizens.

Good Post @MT_Wyatt . I'm guilty to a degree on some of this stuff, it's a good reminder.

I like this guy and I’ve never even met him.

So wait…others now admit parrots exist?!

Awhile back Sam and I got beat up over this 🧐
I think y’all got beat up a bit because the narrative of that thread seemed to be (whether or not it was intended) that Forms “work” needed to stand on its own and anyone else posting was just parroting or whatever.

I think there ended up being some good clarification in that thread on folks who are going out first hand and shooting, killing, and learning versus those who just come on here and repeat shit as if they’ve done it.

I like Avery’s take… If you haven’t actually done it, STFU and read instead of posting and parroting others who have.

It goes both ways for me as well... If you haven’t done or tried any of the Rokslide “group think” facets of hunting and killing, maybe STFU on shitting on it until you’ve tried it as well? Cause all you’re doing then is parroting everyone else in the hunting world.

We had the PSA, discussion, deep thoughts, and I believe Avery’s capstone thesis does it.

Just need some visual references and we’re complete here, so let’s have it.

In all seriousness, I do appreciate the discussion and perspectives (and now memes).
