Now that the 95g TMK are back out in the wild, I picked up a Tikka 243 with the 1:8 twist and am going to start reloading them.

There’s a bit of info scattered about on here and other forums I’ve managed to find but much of it is just broad strokes saying what powder may work well.

Starting this thread in hopes that we can all share our experience loading and shooting the 95TMK. I’ll be using a 243 but feel free to share your results with other cartridges.

I plan to use H4350 and H4831sc as the first two powders I load. From what I can find, I’ll likely end up around here:
- H4350: 40-42 grains
- H4831: 41-43 grains

I’ll hopefully be loading up some test ammo tomorrow to see how it shoots. I’ll try to update with loads and results.

Update after some reloading and a trip to the range. So far it seems my rifle lines the 103 ELDX more than the 95 TMK…

3rd photo is a control group using cheap Norma factory ammo (100g spear point) that I bought for the brass.

All 4 of these loads had slight ejector swipe and heavier bolt lift than factory ammo shot at the same range session. Primers looked normal on all handloads. My plan is to back off 0.5 grains and use the H4350/103 ELDX load for hunting this fall.

I’ll try to pick up some H1000 and a few other powders to see if I can get the 95 TMK to shoot well this winter.

Did you stop due to pressure at that powder charge or was it limited by having to seat the bullet so deep to fit standard 243 COAL?

I used 42 grains and had mild pressure signs but this is making me question if I was loading too hot. Loading manual seems to suggest 42 was around max.

I wonder how often they will start restocking these because I don't need 500. I just wanted to experiment with them on some deer.

It’s been about 6 years? If you grab 500 and didn’t like them you could sell the remainder pretty easy
