I just happily paid for my NR small animal tag so that I could purchase points. I think it's a great investment in the funding for habitat, wildlife, and paying the conservation officers their salary. In the future, this will potentially help me get a better chance at a super nice bull in the future. For what it's worth, I know that nice bulls can be found in OTC units, as I killed one this year. I was incredibly lucky, but worked my ass off for it. I'll post the full story next week, as my Euro is supposed to arrive then.
I can share in the NR ire that resident fees haven't changed much. The flip side to that is that I don't pay taxes there. I think it all is a wash/moot point. If you can't afford to buy the Small Game tag just to buy points, then don't. That'll help with the point creep that's being bitched about.
Or as Mr. French said in the Scorsese Classic "The Departed": " This is America: if you don't make money you're a f-ing douchebag".
Not a particular jab at you, just an FYI. Aside from desert bighorn, it looks like CO hit the residents much harder than the NR with these 2019 changes. Obviously the total dollar amount is still higher for NR but I challenge anyone to show me a state that doesn't operate that way...western or otherwise.
