80# bow only at 77#s

Just did my first limb swap and it mostly went well. The bow was "in time" still post swap.

But my EVL34 is only making 77#. I'm still a noob at this. Can someone tell me which cable I need to twist to increase draw weight ? Is it the buss cable (near the top cam)?

If I twist cables, will my bow go out of time?

Thank you

Thank you! So essentially , I'm only twisting the single cable at the TOP and BOTTOM. I'm not touching the split yoke cables at all?

Correct, don't touch the yokes, just the cable that attaches to each cam. As long as the twists are equal your timing should be good, assuming that the timing was good to begin with.

Twisting the cables will work, but shorten your draw.
First rule to any major bow work, measure and record everything! Also comes in handy should the unthinkable happen.

So I have it at 79#. My draw length (which was set to 30") would have changed now?

My question is: Should I now lengthen the string to get back to my proper draw length ? Lengthening the string also increases draw weight ?

I measured from the center of one axle to the next, and it's at 34" even currently

It's actually the opposite. Putting more twists into cables will increase draw weight AND draw length.

Depending on how many twists you added your draw length should have gotten slightly longer. Adding twists into your string will bring that back and will make an unnoticeable change in draw weight. I would put it on a draw board and check your timing and draw length though before doing any of that.

Thank you. What's the proper way to measure draw length on a draw board ? Frim the throat of the nock, to the center grip ?

The typical way is, from your nock point to the deepest part of the grip plus 1.75

that chart is awesome, thank you!

I got the bow to 80. Timing is perfect, BUT: These two cables look like they may be touching ever so slightly.

They'll be VERY close to eachother but should not be touching

I confirmed that they are routed properly. Not sure why they are touching
