Does anyone have any beta for a short barreled 7prc with monos? Looking to try the PVA Cayuga in 151 or 170, the CE Lazer in 160 or some flavor of Hammer.

Goals are 750yds and in on muleys. I have H1000, RL23 and H4831sc on hand with 215s and ADG brass.

Anyone have a solid load for a CE 160 or 145?

Check in that thread, seems like there are more CE shooters over there

I'm a fan of Hammer and have seen Cutting edge bullets that have rolled over rather than open and break apart at high velocities.

Thanks! Did their published BC hold up?

Never shot them far enough to test BC but Applied ballistics has a curve and rated BC for them and CEB has the AB G7 on their website. i have no reason to think the AB tested #'s would be wrong.

I’ve tried 145 and 160 lazers in mine and couldn’t get them to shoot well. I’m playing around with 160 and 168 coppers roses right now, they both shoot fine. I’ve only shot one animal with a 160 copper rose and it performed fine for a mono. I haven’t done any testing as far as validating the BC though.

Seekins Havak Element 7PRC 22" barrel with suppressor. I am getting 3070 MV with 155 hammer hunters using H1000, Fed 215, and ADG brass. Hit pressure around 3150 but settled on a nice node at 3070. Just punching paper with this bullet so far, but shoots 5 shots under 0.5 MOA. Extreme Spread mid teens SD below 10.

Have not yet trued BC past 300 yds.

Very easy load workup. Tried H4831SC but was slower with worse accuracy.

Hope that helps

Have been shooting 160 lazer in a GW nexus 20 & 24” barrel. The 20” barrel liked
h1000 69.4gn 2965 fps
adg brass
215m
3.338” coal

24” likes
H4831sc 66 gn 2985 fps
Same components as above and coal.

Both barrels have proved to be very accurate in the 2950 to 3000 fps area with 160 lazer. Multiple .5 - .7” groups over last few months of testing. Shooting out to 885 yards .610 g1 was accurate with 24” barrel.

I have a 20" 7mm PRC and will be experimenting some with this later in the year. Probably will try the 160 Lazers and 147 Apex. Maybe also the 160 LRX, not sure yet.

Just as a follow up, I landed on a load for the 145 lazers with RL23 pushing them at 3130 out of a 21" Ace. Very happy with performance thus far with two deer and two caribou at ranges between 80 and 650 yards. Here's a zero check group from the past week
