I'm looking for loads in 7mm08 with the 139 SST. My regular load, 47.6 gr W760, isn't doing well in a new rifle I picked up. My Bergara Ridge and my wife's Rem model 7 both shoot this load well, but a new model 7 just barfs the bullets into about a 4" group. I have Rl17, IMR 4350, Rl19, Rl16 and H4350. I'd prefer not to use the H4350 because we use that in a pair of 6.5 Man Buns, but I'd still give it a try.
I've messed with seating depth and powder charge already, but want to stick with the SST's because I have around 1,500 of them.

RL 17 would be my first to try however it may just be the rifle. I bought a model 7 and a model 700 when I worked at sportsman’s a few years ago and they were both turds. That was the general consensus from customers as well. They used to be killer rifles and I’d love to own an older model 7 but I won’t touch a new one. A 4 inch group doesn’t sound promising. I’d be surprised if you can get a 4 MOA gun shooting sub MOA without any sort of compromise.

This gun was manufactured in 2003, but model 7's haven't really earned a reputation for accuracy. I'm loading it for a 50-75 yd black bear rifle for my daughter. I agree, 4 inch groups will be hard to overcome. I may just have it rebarreled.

I would, an 18 inch carbon six barrel would make a sweet bear rifle! My carbon Six has been amazing.

That's one of the options I'm looking into, thanks for the advice. That'd make it easier to use a supressor too, since they're threaded.

On the advice of a friend I tried this recipe. Loaded them up this morning. Looks like the 140 Partition is a lot closer than my monstrous groups with SST's. Just over an inch.

It's much better than this group. I think a Partition going 2838 at 60 yds will definitely do the trick. This was my attempt with Rl 17, didn't show enough promise to waste any more powder on.

How did it end? Did you use the accubonds? W760 should be fine for the 139 sst.
I’ve used it with great results.
