6x45

Quick update, material can be taken off the back of mag box to get to 2.5” oal in Jefferson mag box.

I’m going to make that modification now. Flat file and a few minutes.

Going forward to get anything past 2.5 will require the mods in my previous post.

For those interested ! An initial test drive of Hornady 80 VT's in my 18" 1:7" 3 groove Pacnor.
The Garmin velocity numbers ran 2906fps through 3027fps with no pressure signs observed.
Will load more at about 3K fps and stretch her legs...

Any updates on this loading? Looks intriguing...

Shot 87 vmax today with TAC in my short barreled 6/45. Got up to 2800 FPS with no pressure signs. Slightly better accuracy with the 2750 fps charge and may load up 10 to more carefully group test.

Had 75 vmax perking along at 2980 fps. Such a pleasure to shoot after sighting in a 7mm Rem and a 9.3x62.

For anyone considering going down same path:

Deal is legit. Rifle shipped immediately - no problems there - buy with confidence.

But the .350 legend action inlet IS DIFFERENT than the .223 and the 6ARC. I cannot confirm action inlet of a Grendel or Bushmaster or 7.62x39. How is it different? I'll post pictures in a second. But it has some lips on the action inlet that I assume help feed the legend cartridge in some way.

They have no impact on feeding .223 or 6x45 from a magazine - even though they stagger in the mag, they come out centered and "single feed".

But, if you're going with a hinged metal, which staggers the cartridges, the gun won't feed. Since I will likely be building this rifle to use with a hinged metal, I'll be taking this material off. Should be a very simple fix - I looked over the other actions I have pretty closely, and it's just a matter of removing a little material. I'll post results once I have a barrel chambered and gun assembled, and attempt the modification.
Did you ever by chance get that material removed. I am building a 6x45 on the howa mini that was a 350 legend previous. Any chance you could show a photo of how much material was removed?

Any chance you could share the load data for Tac by chance I have a couple pounds laying around and wondering what to use it on?

Haven’t done it yet. But the .223’s and 6ARCs both have flat action inlet lines there.

Here they are side by side. If you’re shooting with mags, don’t modify it. If you’re using hinged metal you’ll need to just take off those edges.

Gotcha, still waiting on my barrel to come in and see how far I can seat bullets in it. Think a simple file would work on removing the wings? Not really used to modifying actions/ metal work. Thanks for a more up close picture.
