6mm GT chamber question

Would CCI #41 (Mil Spec 5.56) primers work? The description says it's the same cup thickness and compound as the SR magnums. Don't see a lot of 450's available. I haven't been to my local Cabela's to see if they have any in stock.

I don’t see why they wouldn’t, i don’t think the “magnum” part is even necessary on the 450s the thicker cup just helps the issue you’re having.

I don’t think it’s particularly unique to the 6GT, i can’t see how it would be, i think people just typically use magnums in the creedmoor case size because of the capacity so you don’t see it as commonly.

A quick Google search mentions that the anvil design is different and that the quality control isn't as strict with the NATO primers. Should be good enough to confirm they work in my rifle.

450s, BR4, #41, or rem 7.5 should all help with resistance to piercing. They've all seemed to be in pretty good stock at local stores in recent times.

I'm pretty limited here in SE WI. Got a Cabela's close by. Next place that might carry primers is an hour away.
