6.5ss 130tmk firing forming load so it was slow like 2850 white tail doe 480 yards slight quarting shot entrance was in front of leg exit was behind leg other side. Doe dropped right there dead. Soup inside.
Coyote 400yards 6.5ss 140 Berger hybrid target 2950 once again dropped dead right there.

Anyone have photos of the same cartridges performing at 50 yards? I’m fascinated to see what the wound channels look like there. It’s obvious they work great at long range but any negatives on the close up shots?
Here is a black bear shot at 75 ish yards. Impact velocity was 2800 fps from a 108 ELDM 6 creedmoor. Entrance picture is the one with the glove. The other is the exit side.

The bullet completely exited through the offside hide? How far did the bear travel before it expired? Looks like it was a good shot.

Alot of the arguments I hear up here is that match bullets work good at distance and explode and don't penetrate well at 50 yards. Last year I harvested 4 animals at 50, 125, 390, 640 yards. I am just as likey to shoot animals at 50 yards as 650. I wouldn't mind shooting at black bear at 50 yards with a 108 to confirm through my own evaluations. I get apprehensive on brown bears though or even grizzlies. Interior grizz are know to get mean up here.

I shot a black bear at ~50 yards last Spring, also with the 108 ELD-M from a 6 CM. Shot was quartering away, broke offside scapula, and exited. A few bullet frags found in the offside broken scapula and shoulder meat, but the bullet exited. Wound channel was moderate, which I like. Bear didn't walk an inch after the shot.
