6mm /.243 hunting success on Big Game

95 tmk at 315 yards. Missed the wind call and hit him dead center in the shoulder. Dropped in his tracks and was death moaning within seconds.

That is nice!!! What cartridge and velocity, and did you open it up for bullet damage inspection? The 95gr. 6mm bullets "seem to me" are on the lite side for extended range performance, and NO, I do not have any first hand experience with them. But after your post, I feel I shouldn't count them out for my 6mm build in the works. Thank you for the post.

8 twist tikka 243 with an impact velocity of 2365fps. Didn’t do much inspection on this one just because it was late when we got to him. If you look back through this thread at post #2996, I have a more detailed post about the 95tmk on a cow elk at 434 yards. My personal experience with them hasn’t led me to feel one bit like they wouldn’t kill anything I wanted as long as I stayed within the velocity threshold.
