Nice buck and great quick video! Congrats!Forgot to share this on here but here is a quick video of a badlands backcountry hunt with my Howa Mini 6 Arc. Took a nice buck at 220 yards. Footage of the actual shot is zoomed in and a little grainy but as you can see dropped him right on the spot. This was with the Berger 105 VLD Hunting bullet with a MV of 2640.
Yeah these are factory. Most lots I've shot average around 2515-2530 fps. I did just recently started rolling my own and did a velocity node test with Staball Match, Alpha Brass, and 107 SMKs and found two nodes in the 2600 fps range for this 16.5" barrel. I'm going to also try and experiment with Reloader 15.5 and see where that gets me.brandon, are those factory eldm, or you roll your own. the factories shoot lights out for me, but slow. seems like yall are shooting heavys instead of the 95 gr stuff

What are the go to bullets for 6CM when there's a possibility of high impact velocities (2800-2900ish)? I know 108eldm is one of the standards. What does it look like with these impact velocities? Maybe Berger 108EH? I think 115 class might be too heavy in a 20" or 18" barrel?
Here is a 108 ELDM that impacted this back at 2515 fps or so. I think the weight retention was around 48% but you can see where I hit him in the 2nd to last picture (in the shoulder pocket) and the red circle is where the bullet stopped. Probably over 18" of penetration. What are the go to bullets for 6CM when there's a possibility of high impact velocities (2800-2900ish)? I know 108eldm is one of the standards. That doesn't look too bad.Posted this back earlier in the year, see post# 2123 in this thread for pics. Results below on my only sample of very high velocity impacts with the 6mm Creed:
"Got a chance to test the 108 ELDm at a high velocity impact, a doe came out at about 10 yards. Hit her quartering away from me, and impressively the bullet exited the neck. I was definitely surprised it held together just enough...
6mm creed, 108 ELDm, impact velocity was approximately 2975 fps, I was slightly elevated, so the angle was down from about 5 feet above ground level."
Exact same result on an antelope with 108 eldm at around 2850 fps. Hole-soup-bigger hole. Not much wasted, shot in the crease.Had a 108 eldm impact an antelope buck at 2900 ish impact velocity this season. Bullet impact was behind the shoulder, chest cavity was destroyed and the bullet did exit out the off side ribs. The damage inside the chest cavity was “extensive”, but it did not affect the eating any. This is my only experience at that impact velocity with the 108 eldm.
I’d be curious to know aswell…lost all my reloading gear to a fire a few weeks ago so I’m back to the factory life for the foreseeable future. These would make some damn cheap practice ammo!Might pick up some of this as 243 range ammo at $0.85 per round. Any experiences with it? Wondering who makes the brass. Keeping it for reloads after a bulk order would be nice.

I'm one and done on deer.I’m looking into running 115 NR DTacs this year. After several different searches I have found impressive results with both standard and deep cut nose rings.
Just curious what the general consensus is regarding both. Will either perform well? Do they have different upset windows?

Depends on what you are hunting for. Elk sized game the DTAC is good. Deer size game they aren't the best.I’m looking into running 115 NR DTacs this year. After several different searches I have found impressive results with both standard and deep cut nose rings.
