Over 1900 fps at 604 yards with factory eldms? That's awesome! What's your muzzle velocity and the elevation where you shot the bull? I'm in the process of putting together a 6 arc myself. The damage at that speed/distance is impressive. Congrats on the bulls!

2nd Bull was my son using the same gun. We called this guy into 44 yards and my son shot him straight in the chest, he dropped instantly!! We put a mercy shot at the base of skull but he. Gallons of blood in the chest cavity again. Did not recover the bullet.View attachment 772873View attachment 772874

I built a 6mm Creedmoor on a Savage action, 27 Inch X-Caliber barrel in a 1:7.7 twist shooting a 90gr Nosler Accubond, 3400fps at the muzzle. It really does a number on our smaller deer here. Longest shot I have taken with it is 308 yards so far but it was a scapula hit and bang flop. I have really been impressed by the caliber.

It didn’t exit. He shot it in the chest and it went almost full length through the moose.

I’ve tried scanning the thread and can’t see if there’s a definitive conclusion on the 112 Match Burner. Has @Formidilosus or anyone else gathered enough terminal data yet?

Put one in the boiler room and game will die. I had 1500x of the 112s when they first made em 5-6 years ago, consistency was horrible. I pretty much used them to break in new barrels. I picked up 3x 100ct boxes this spring and they were much more consistent on base to ogive and oal. So I bought another 2k. I'll be shooting them in my 20in 6cm this year for huntig season, along side the 88s in 22cm. Funny how it's tending less is more. I told a friend today I was gonna cart 6mm and 22 for elk, he looked at me like a was nuts! Ignorance is bliss I guess.

Figured I would pose this question here due to all of the experience with the 6mm. Has anyone shot either factory or handloaded 95 gr NBT in a Tikka .243 win? Specifically the 1:8 twist. Just curious as to your results. Looking at getting said rifle, shooting that bullet and to potentially bump up to 108 eldms in future. Just wanting to make sure 95 grainer would shoot well enough in it. FWIW I'm at about 1600 ft elevation.

Yes, the results so far for me have been fantastic with a MV of 2920 to 2980, depending on load with a 20” barrel.

Blacktail Deer at 90 & 400 yards.
Moose at 525 yards.

6 Creedmoor factory Berger 108 elite hunter both were instant drops. Buck was at 220 yds doe was at 80 yds. Slight meat loss on buck due to spine hit (uphill shot quartering to me, my bad.)

I saw your posts literally two seconds after I made my post. That definitely makes me feel pretty good about using the 112. The only reservation I have is based on the few posts where people called them pretty explosive. I’m fixin to pop an antelope next weekend with the 145. I got some 108’s as a safe bet but the 112 sure does look tempting. Thanks for the response

Does this hold true for even lighter bullets? The hornady 58 grain vmax in particular. I’m looking at picking up a tikka .243 (1:8 twist). That’s the smallest I’m able to go legally for big game but want to be able to shoot the lighter bullets for yotes, prairie dogs, etc. also and want to be sure it’s capable on the lower end before I buy.

I cannot say for sure on that one, but I haven’t seen any light .243 bullets come apart in 1-8” twist barrel.

Not the 95 NBTs but I’ve shot the 95 SSTs out of 8 twist tikka barrels quite a bit. They are the most accurate 6mm bullet out of Tikkas chambered in .243 in my experience with 4 different guns now.
