105gr hornady bthp in a 20ā€ 6CM continues to impress
2700ish impact velocity
Blew through him and liquified insides
40-50 yard death run with blood sprayed everywhere

How much meat loss would you say that you had? From blood shot or just tore up.

Hardly any at all. Now if that bullet struck just a few inches forward it would probably be a different story

Couldnā€™t even find the entrance on the outside. Caliber sized hole going in but then it opened up rapidly. Exit was much larger

Anyone have any experience with the .243 terminator? I just ordered a blank & im thinking in gunna do this in 18ā€. Very little Info on this cartridge. @Ryan Avery you built a couple terminators correct?

Iā€™ve got plenty of deer and antelope with a 95 grain vld @ 3250 fps out of a 26ā€ brux barreled 243. No problems so for.

.243 with 100gr interlocks from about 50 yards. First shot was high shoulder and spine. The follow up exited about the size of a quarter. No tracking. Iā€™ll probably buy some fusions or something for his next hunt. They could have done a little more damage. No major complaint though.

Looks like your young'n has better taste in footwear than Ryan "Croc Hunter" @Ryan Avery.

Congratulations, dad and kiddo!

Well done! Is that a Rem 600? I noticed the dog leg bolt handle.

Thanks for the post. I've been curious how these work because you can buy the factory ammo relatively cheap. Currently loading 95gr BT's which I know work well but looking for a 243 factory ammo option that works in a 1:10 twist and also performs well. It's tough to keep up to all the reloading sometimes so I'd like that option.

It is. It was my grandmas, mine, and now my sons.

I donā€™t think they are bad. I loaded them pretty soft and that rifle has an 18ā€ barrel. You might get more upset closer to max and a longer barrel. When I was bullet shopping there wasnā€™t much available and I wanted to be able to load reduced recoil practice ammo for reasonably cheap.

I shot interlocks out of a 24 inch barreled 243 I had built and was not impressed with them on southwestern US size doe. I killed 5 or 6 one weekend on a doe killing trip on a plantation with them. Hardly any of them bled and I put my lab on 3 of them to find them. I shot the last 2 through the shoulders and they bled okay but not anything great. Some folks love them but I'm not one of them.
