6mm /.243 hunting success on Big Game

My buddy just returned from Alaska. He took my Seekins Slam in 6CM w/ the Gunworks 115 Berger VLDH loads (muzzle velocity of 2925). The bullet worked as one would expect on a ~450 yard shot on a dalls sheep. He didn't snap any pictures of the wound channel for me but noted it was pretty devestating.

They would support it, but they aren’t interested in a heavier 6mm, and they won’t optimize it terminally.
When it does come out I hope they can support it better than the 95 tmk. Optimized or not, it does nobody any good if a guy can’t count on the next 1000 bullets 3-6 months down the road.

Recently went hog hunting for the first time, friends I went with all had magnums as hogs have “armor plated” shoulders. I took my 243 as I thought this was hoopla. Shot one small/medium sized pig in the shoulder that was DRT. Then shot this boar facing too almost square in the chest. Ran 20-30yds.

*Was bigger than this picture makes him out to be.*….. happens a lot

I find putting something in the pic for scale helps lol

That rifle is 48inches long in that configuration.

Until I see other outlets where I have notifications at telling me they have them in stock, I'm not playing. Too many times someone has put the 95 SMK into inventory as a 95 TMK and you get the wrong product. Most won't take returns either.

95 TMK vs 108 ELDM - which will get you further before dropping below 1800 FPS in a 243 1:8 twist?
I know I could comfortably move a 95tmk at 3150 from an 18in 6cm, 108s are generally very accurate at 2860 or so. 240g7 on tmk, 265 on 108eldm. The 95tmk has very little bearing surface compared to the 108. I'll be loading up the 95tmk in my .120fb 22in 6gt and I'll put some deer down with them this fall. 22in 6gt is generally close to an 18in 6cm velocity wise.
