I'm guessing he is talking about the older ATS eyepiece since its not an option on the newer scopes. Jason who did the majority of the review has a ATS HD w/ the 25-50 eyepiece so we had that as a base reference for the review. Both the Leica and ATX Swaro we felt were better than his.
Did you (or anyone else) do a head to head comparison between the Swarovski 20-60 and the 20-50 eyepiece? Curious how much of 10x difference in power was noticeable vs. the additional wide view of the 50.

I really think that comes down to a personal preference. The optics are going to be a touch better in the 50x wide so at 50x in both spotters you would have a better image with the wide eyepiece but if you are trying to zoom in and see small details the higher magnification would be nice.

For me I really appreciate the wider field of view on the 25-50x and would easily give up that extra 10x.

I have spent hours trying to find reviews and comparisons for the Leica APO 65. Yours was
by far the best. There are very few comparisons throughout the internet (google
or yahoo) search that I could find. I was searching by brand name and not "65MM search".
Thank you for taking the time.

Steve I'll probably get yelled at for even suggesting it, but I would have liked to have seen a Leupold Gold Ring spotter thrown in the mix. I can't help myself as I've always had good luck with Leupold and I like their scopes.

I have had a decent amount of field time with the Golden Ring HD and to be honest I didn't think its on the same level to include in this review.

Apologies for the threadromancy, but the link above to the review is broken ... is there a new URL? While a couple of the models may now be a superseded, this review could still be relevant for folks looking for secondhand models ...
