Got barrels super quick so first shots out today. Neck sizing went well once we got the necks dialed in a bit better. This is my first foray into the hand load world so trying to learn as we go, good to have an experienced friend running the bench.

N565 and Berger 108 EHs, worked up to 59 grains, things tightened up nicely at that charge, 3130 fps. Probably will play around a bit more, but seeing accuracy, speed, with the powder/bullet we want on first fires for brass is beyond nice.

BIG recoil difference dropping from 7 PRC to this.

I got my barrel today and put it on my action. I loaded up 57,57.5 and 58 grains of H1000 and 58,58.5 and 59 grains of N565. Chamber measured around 2.33” CBTO so I loaded the rounds at 2.31”. Barrel finished at 3lbs 8oz and an .890” muzzle.

I have a 17" 5 groove 7.5t barrel from PBB. Shooting the 109 eldm, near the lands like i always start. Necked down ADG brass. I went up to 60gr with both n570 and n565 and tried both br2 and fed 215 primers. Zero pressure with any of the loads, had better ES with br2's and way more speed with n565(3100 vs 2930) so im gonna load up more of that combo, probably 60.5gr tonight and go shoot tomorrow.

Was gonna try rl26 too cause i have a shitload of that as well, but if the n565 does well i may stick with that for this season since its been more temp stable for me
Rl26 and N570 are going to be top choices.

H1000 has gotten me more speed then N565. It is not showing the same ES and accuracy as N565 in the both the 6 and 25PRC. I am going to stick with N565. I am getting more velocity than I need. Right now I am over 300k RPM ‘s with the 109 Bergers so I will keep the speed lower. I built this rifle for 200’ elevation so I had to go with a 7.5 twist. Other wise the 8 twist would be a better choice given the high velocities.

Had great results with n565 actually. Getting about 3100 with the 109 eld-m in a 17" barrel. Got a ton more speed than i did with 570
I ordered a PBB in 20" 7.5T. I am start with the 105HT, have you had any OAL issues with the FB of .140? or is the action/mag limiting you at this point.

What bushing are you sizing down with, I will be using ADG brass, and it seems .270-.271 is a common one, might pick up a .272 as well with a mandrel .24? ??

No issues but im shooting a different bullet than you, the 109 eld-m. I'm using ADG brass also, with short action customs dies. Mark from SAC recommended I get these parts when i switched from 6.5 to 6prc and its worked out for me

I think .274. I am going to adjust to .271 probably after first firing. I am also checking neck thickness.
I think 274 is going to be about right.
I tried 271 and it gave me inconsistent velocities as I hit higher pressure. I'm at 275 and it's better but a little lose. Planning to get a 274 bushing to try. With other rifles I've also had good luck with a Lee Factory crimp die and a slight crimp.

I have all that sizes coming minus a .2415(got a .241) should be a fun cartridge to reload and shoot.

I will play with some of the 108/109 bullets but I was concerned they could be a hair too long and be too deep in the case with a .140 FB and jump. seems its not really an issue.

What sort of velocities are you seeing with the heavier bullet and 17" barrel?

58 grain N565 3100 avg with 109 Berger and 20” barrel, 58.5 grain N565 3150 avg. I would say you will see a 20-25fps drop per inch of barrel. With a 17” you could still get around 3100. I could go faster but with a 7.5 twist I would be well over 300k RPM. Right now I am about 302K. 3150FPS is plenty for me.

Mullman is spot on, I'm getting around 3100 with 60gr n565 and br2 primers with a suppressor. Huntnfull has a better reamer for the 108/109 but like i said, im not having any issues with the PBB standard freebore for this cartridge

Mine is also suppressed. The reamer I used is the one Mike Manzella of Manzella precision had made to his spec. They are seated out a good distance.

I went with a 20” and will be suppressed as well. Lots of variables overall with FB length and neck tension to work through etc.

I’m not really chasing any wild speed, I’ll build something else for that.

I would think 565-570 out of a 20” with a 105-109 will all be in the general velocity of 3100 - 3300 depending on the willingness to spin the bullet over 300k. I went slightly longer so I could hopefully reach that 3100 without needing to REALLY REALLY load it hot.

I also went with PBB which is. A .140FB.

I’m awaiting my PBB 6 PRC barrel. Should be done in a couple weeks or so. 18” .750” taperless, 7.5 twist, diamond fluting. I had them add .040” freebore, so I’ll have a total of .180” FB.

When you get it, please post a weight if not too much trouble.
