First time posting!

I'm working up a 6cm build on a tikka action, this will be my first year hunting AK as a resident, primarily targeting mountain critters. Shooting for a 5k-ish budget. Had to put some sort of constraints around it because I've been going around in circles for weeks. Rokslide is really good for finding the best of each particular aspect of the gun build but I my total bill required me to pull a second mortgage..

Anywho, I had some spare time and built out a little spreadsheet with dropdowns with what I'm looking at. I'd love some input.

Your job:

.5 - open this google sheets page.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...ouid=109830482069318685590&rtpof=true&sd=true

1. Find a tab that isnt populated in the green cells (column F) or duplicate and existing one. Feel free to rename it to something identifiable

2. if you click in the green cells it has a dropdown for the options I've loosely narrowed down. If you suggest something else - feel free to add comments to the right.

3. Cell G4 has your remaining budget, as you select Items, that will be deducted based on your selections.

4. Help me build a sweet sheep gun

I've picked up a couple things so far on impulse buys..
Tikka super varmint in 308
PBB 18' Prefit barrel
A10 suppressor
Athlon chronograph

P.s. For newer subscribers or anyone really, one of the best comeups I had was using AI to search specific topics I was interested in. NotebookLM if you only want to focus on a specific thread or Gemini seems to work the best for general questions my limited experience. Tell the AI to search rokslide and be Form then ask away... Probably not quite the same but significantly more responsive!

Cheers!

Not sure how to edit your spreadsheet but for the lightest stock (at least I think) I’d get the peak 44 black tooth stock. Advertised weight is 20oz. I’ve never used one but if you’re counting ounces, this may be the ticket.

I’ll add to your spreadsheet, but you should budget for some ballistic range finding binos if you don’t already have a pair

Edit: looks like it’s in a “view only” setting

I say build out the rifle, then add none rifle equipment as you can.

I can't edit the spreadsheet.

If you can get one, Rokstoks are phenomenal.

Decide if you want to use the native Tikka rail (Sportsmatch or UM Tikka rings) or bond a pic rail (something with a recoil lug, I use Area419) and get NF UL rings.

Direct mount will be cheapest.

If budget limited, then no need to change DBM. I like my Lumley Artic DBMs for an enlarged trigger guard in winter.

I don't think the RS1.2 is worth the current price. Unfortunately the SWFA 3-9 and 6x and 3-15 (with good reticle) are out of stock. A Trijicon would be the cheapest option available now to get you hunting with plan to upgrade later.

The S2H scope would be a good option, but you might not have it in time to hunt.

You could move the scope you purchase now to a 223 trainer in the future.

The UM bolt handle and knob are nice, but not needed.

Careful with AI, it told me a starting load for 6 creed with 108 ELDMs was 53 gr of N160. AI has no logic nor reasoning ability at present, it just imitates.

Used rs1.2 to save you 400 in classifieds, use um rings as you have listed, um level. You don’t need an annealer and if you want go little crow on the drill. Add another tikka mag

Ummm 🤔 just buy a tikka in 6cm and cut the barrel to the length you want, get a solid scope and rings and maybe add a stock later if you want

But, he already has a Tikka and a 6 Creedmoor barrel, so a little late.
