Bow hunting tonight.
Fall turkey in the morning
Then back to the house shoot this gun.

Bass pro only had 143 eldx prc ammo in stock but they had piles of creedmoor.

Anybody decide if this round is elk sufficient?

Ballistics with a 147 sure would tell you so based on KE out past 700.

Im going to get a new rifle just really torn between the PCR and the Creedmore or scraping the 6.5 all together and go with a 300wm

I'm sure you'll get into the age old elk cartridge argument"................but..............I wouldn't hesitate to use that setup on elk.

If its specifically an elk rifle I would build a 300wm. If its doing other deer duty/and all around hunting rifle I think PRC is a great choice. From someone who has quite a lot invested in this cartridge lol

I think that rests my case especially when comparing to the 6.5 creedmore. I like the factory ammo availability of the CM but ballistics just don’t quite compare.

Now that brings a guy to the next question, reasonably priced accurate rifles. I was set on the CA ridgeline or Mesa. Seems like guys love them or hate them. Is there another factory type build or reasonable custom option around the 1-2k mark?

I would strongly suggest handling one before buying. It’s the absolute worst cycling action I’ve had my hands on. If feels like it has a ton of cock on close which is unacceptable for a 2k rifle.

I had heard similar on the action of the seekins.

The CA debate goes around and around. Is there a solid custom build that can be had for similar money? What about the tikka long range offerings?

I have Hornady 147M's and Barnes 127 LRX's in my hands. Dies and 150 Sierra's hopefully will be here Friday as I am headed to the farm on Friday night.
I do have two boxes of factory 143 ELDX rounds to work with if the heavies don't get here.

For sure will have a load for Nov. Missouri deer season.

Tried to upload some Quickload screens but they kept coming out upside down. Those 127's can be scorchers.
